Susan Marshall is President of Executive Advisor, LLC, an independent consulting firm founded in 1997 that specializes in leadership development and executive effectiveness. She has been assisting leaders in public and private sector industry, non-profit agencies, and public education for nearly 30 years. Her work is dedicated to building strong leaders who in turn create successful organizations, transform school systems, and develop leaders at all levels.
Through workshops, seminars, and personalized coaching, Susan focuses on the fundamental skills of critical thinking, decisiveness, clarity of communication, integrity of word and act, and consistency. Her book, “How to Grow a Backbone: 10 Strategies for Gaining Power and Influence at Work,†has been translated into multiple languages and is especially popular in Asia

Susan Marshall is an author, speaker, and business owner whose corporate and consulting experience includes work with Best Buy, Subaru of America, Harley-Davidson, GE Healthcare, the New York City Leadership Academy, Boys & Girls Clubs of America and many others. She led a successful turnaround of a privately held marketing firm in the mid-90s and has shared her learning with hundreds of executives facing similar challenges.
Susan teaches Leadership for an MBA program at Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, WI. She has been welcomed as a guest-lecturer at several University of Wisconsin campuses as well as Marquette University, Alverno College, the University of Michigan Ross School of Business and the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. She is a regular columnist for Today’s Wisconsin Woman and The Small Business Times. Susan combines pragmatism with energy, optimism and hope as she helps leaders dare to go beyond benchmarking to ask, “What’s possible?â€
